Dreaming by EJ, February 1986 Here I'm lying in my bed, ghosts of dreams swirl in my head. Darkness tells no hint of time, unconscious vapors of thoughts sublime. Illusions grasped and held as real, reality's touch I cannot feel. I make a note to stop today, ethereal paper drifts away. Long lost friend is found at last, but disappears back to my past. Answers found and problems solved, crimes and murders, I'm involved. And yet I know what's real and not, or so say I when daylight's got. But drifting back to nether world, glorious kingdoms spread unfurled. Flowing scenes that lure me back, my very being to entrap. Engulfed in darkness light abounds, unseen colors make silent sounds. And still I do this every night, 'til Sol sneaks in to shed his light. Scattered worlds of dreams dissolve, my mind awakens to resolve, I'm really here at home somehow. God, to my dreams return me now.
